Fortnite is the recently announced game from Epic studios. The game was inspired by Minecraft but with a greater emphasis on building structures. And fighting of waves of zombies.
As Epic described it themselves “an expansive original world that invites players to be creative, resourceful and collaborative by day and defend their prized fortress by night”.
The basic premise of the game is from the trailer and what information has been released. Fortnite has a day and night cycle. The day giving players time to salvage parts from the existing world even so far as blowing up generated buildings with dynamite to salvage metal, signs and other such scrap.

Also noted during the day time there was a small creature they called a thief. So it could be assumed that during the day while you are primarily safe there will still be nuisances to hinder your gathering.

You and friends (if present) then proceed to build a freeform structure that will act as your defense against the onslaught of zombies through the night. From the video the freeform structure could be seen taking place. The gatherable scraps include generators, lights, fences, poles, glass and various other types of metal sheets for walls
Generator working (for a second atleast) and what in the top-left hand corner appears to be Mac in an Asian hat or an ugly lampshade.
