![]() Alan Wake, a 'psychological thriller', has been cancelled for the PC platform by Microsoft. Announced back in 2005's E3, it was supposed to be a Xbox 360 and Windows Vista-only title. The game combines an unique and thrilling story with beautiful graphics. Alan Wake was already put on hold in mid-2009 by Microsoft, stating that the console version had higher priority. As Alan Wake, a successful writer who lost his creativity, your wife send you to the calm and peaceful town Bright Falls, in order to seek some fresh inspiration. However, Bright Falls isn't as peaceful as it looks on first hand. Alan's wife disappears without a trace, as he finds himself in the middle of a thriller story.
"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."
It has been already announced that there will be more episodes of Alan Wake in the future. Because of Microsoft's decision, it can be assumed that future Alan Wake titles will stay Xbox (360) only.
Alan Wake is set for release on May the 18th in North America and May the 21st in Europe.
