my trusty old dual core pc has had a graphics card failure, the trusty old gts250 card has finally died. i can't
boot up my pc due to the card being dead and not reading on boot up. the fun part now is what to get to replace it. seeing that the pc is almost 7 years old now, i will stick to a budget and not spend big on a new card. i have seen
gt 520/550 nvidia cards with 2 gig memory selling for around $65 aud just not sure if these cards are any good. anyone got ideas on what is a suitable replacement?

looks like things where not so drastic with the graphics card after all.pulled the side cover of the case off and tidied up some wiring then pushed on the graphics card to make sure it was making good contact then thought i would fire it up. seems the graphics card may have worked itself loose and not making good contact with the slot, now is all fine

woudlnt reccomend a 520, would reccomend a 550 though

glad u got it sorted would u not be looking a newer machine

with 2 kids in tow now, gaming and anything pc related take a back seat for a while. some time in the future i will build another pc
